Portillo’s Ski School offers a program of Ski and Snowboard classes for individuals with special needs. Our goal is to give people with disabilities an equal opportunity to learn and enjoy these winter sports.

Our professors have done clinics with specialists from the United States in Adaptive skiing and snowboarding. These clinics have been given by professionals from the American not – for – profit organization “Challenge Aspen” ( www.challengeaspen.com).

Several Portillo instructors are trained to give private lessons to individuals with disabilities. Our instructors can teach people with the following six special needs:

• Blind or limited vision
• Three track: Disabled in one leg
• Four track: Disabled in both legs, but can stand with assistance.
• Bi-ski: Disabled in the legs and arms
• Mono-ski: Disability of the legs, but with strength in the upper part of the body
• Stand-up: Other disabilities, but for those that can stand up

Note: Prices in Chilean pesos include the value added tax (19%). Guests who stay at the hotel and who are not residents of Chile DO NOT pay VAT if they pay their bill in dollars or with a dollar credit card.

Prices in dollars are informative and estimated at the current exchange rate used in Portillo. Bills are presented in Chilean pesos. The dollar prices above DO NOT include the 19% Value Added Tax (IVA), however, guests who stay at the hotel and who are not residents of Chile DO NOT pay IVA if they pay their bill in dollars or with a dollar credit card.
